Gurugram Hit-and-Run: Two Accused Sent to 14-Day Judicial Custody
The legal proceedings regarding the high-profile hit-and-run incident on Gurugram's Golf Course Road have taken a significant turn. On Friday, the two primary accused individuals, Kalyan Bainsla and Lavneesh, were sent to 14-day judicial custody by the court.
The case, which has drawn widespread attention, involves a collision that left a young woman injured. Following the court's decision, the next scheduled hearing for the matter has been set for October 1, 2026.
Legal Proceedings and Arrest Details
Advocate Lalit Bindal, who is representing the accused in this matter, confirmed the developments regarding the custody. He stated that the police had formally requested a 14-day remand during the proceedings, a request that was subsequently granted by the court.
According to Bindal, both Bainsla and Lavneesh have been sent for this 14-day remand period. The arrests themselves followed a significant effort by law enforcement; Bainsla, aged 33, and his cousin Lavneesh were apprehended by the Gurugram Police in Rajasthan on Tuesday.
Their capture came after a dedicated two-day search operation conducted by the police. Lavneesh was allegedly present in the vehicle with Bainsla at the time the hit-and-run incident occurred.
Victim Rejects Caste-Based Narrative
The victim, identified as Sia, was riding her bike when she was allegedly struck by the speeding car. While the incident has sparked intense discussion online, Sia has taken a firm stance against the direction of the conversation on social media.
She expressed her view that there is a deliberate attempt to frame the accident as a caste-based issue, a move she described as "illogical." Sia noted that she personally does not want the incident to be linked to casteism and finds the current social media discourse to be misguided.

There are currently two other accused individuals who are yet to be arrested. Sia has been very clear about her expectations for the legal outcome, stating that all four accused must face the harshest possible punishment.
She warned that if even a single person involved is let off without consequence, there remains a risk that similar incidents could be committed in the future. The case was originally brought to light after Sia posted a video on social media on Sunday, which appeared to show the vehicle driven by Bainsla speeding toward her and hitting her bike.
